  • • 2016 Seoul National University, national policy research experiment with ‘National Policy Forum’
  • • 2020 Seoul National University establishes a plan to improve social research organization
  • • April to June 2021 (tentative name) ‘Future Strategy Institute’ promotion group formed, work on establishing national policy think tank in full force
  • • Establishment of the ‘Institute for Future Strategy’ as a research facility directly under Seoul National University headquarters in November 2021
  • • In December 2021, Professor Kim Byeong-Yeon (Department of Economics) was appointed as the first director, and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon was appointed as honorary director.
  • • Opening ceremony held on February 24, 2022, attended by Prime Minister Kim Boo-gyeom, former Prime Minister Lee Hong-gu, Seoul National University President Oh Se-Jung, etc.
