You are cordially invited to the forum hosted by the Carbon Neutrality Cluster of the Institute for Future Strategy at Seoul National University.

In an era defined by the climate crisis, pursuing carbon neutrality is no longer optional—it is essential. Achieving this goal requires a significant expansion of renewable energy. The Korean government is seeking to accelerate industrial decarbonisation through the creation of RE100 industrial complexes. However, the success of this new initiative will depend on clear strategies and actionable implementation plans.

This forum, titled “Current Status and Future Challenges of Korea’s Microgrid-Based RE100 Industrial Complexes,” will explore the concept of RE100 industrial complexes and key issues surrounding the national “Energy Expressway” strategy. It will further examine the digital transformation and IT solutions necessary for successful implementation. Following keynote presentations by Dr. Jiyoung Bae (Democratic Research Institute) and Mr. Jonggyu Kim (CEO, SixtyHertz), a panel of experts across the environment, construction, industry, energy, public administration, and ESG sectors will engage in an in-depth discussion to develop comprehensive strategies and identify future tasks for realising RE100 industrial complexes in Korea.

We warmly invite you to join us in examining one of the core challenges of Korea’s carbon-neutral transition.
