It is becoming increasingly clear that semiconductors and artificial intelligence will define global power in the 21st century. In China Semiconductor Rising, Kwon Seok-jun offers a rigorous and up-to-date analysis of China’s semiconductor and AI strategies, examining both their achievements and structural challenges as the country pursues technological self-reliance.

The book also provides a sharp assessment of the intensifying U.S.–China technological rivalry—often described as a high-stakes “chicken game”—particularly in the aftermath of the DeepSeek shock.
