2026 Korea National Defense University–Seoul National University Institute for Future Strategy Joint Academic Conference

The Research Institute for National Security Affairs, Korea National Defense University, and the Institute for Future Strategy, Seoul National University, are pleased to host a joint academic conference under the theme, "Vision and Challenges for South Korea's National Grand Strategy."

This conference has been organized to explore a comprehensive national grand strategy for South Korea in response to the rapidly evolving international security environment and the era of technological innovation. Leading experts from diverse fields—including foreign affairs and security, science and technology, maritime security, Middle East affairs, North Korea's nuclear threat, and emerging technologies and international law—will gather to examine major national security challenges and discuss practical policy recommendations.

The conference will also feature a Doctoral Dissertation Panel on International Security, providing an opportunity for emerging scholars to present their research and exchange ideas on future research directions for addressing the changing security landscape.

Through this joint conference, Korea National Defense University and the Seoul National University Institute for Future Strategy aim to foster academic exchange and collaboration that will contribute to the development of a sustainable national grand strategy and sound security policies for South Korea.
