SNU Institute for Future Strategy – Senior researcher positions for fellowship program
The Institute for Future Strategy at Seoul National University, established in February 2022, conducts in-depth policy research on major issues in domestic and international societies. The institute aims to provide policy recommendations and guidance as a leading think tank in the Republic of Korea and also share its research findings with society through various means such as hosting forums, publishing reports, and actively engaging in policy proposal activities. The institute operates seven clusters for in-depth policy research, covering the fields of Democracy, Future of Science and Technology, Economic Security, Population, Global Korea, Balanced Regional Growth & Resilience and Carbon Neutrality. It also develops and operates various policy research task forces (TFs) based on recent social issues, such as healthcare reform and the policy direction of the second Trump administration. The SNU Strategic Studies Fellowship program at the Institute for Future Strategy invites candidates with strong backgrounds in various policy research for the positions of young and dynamic researchers who will perform outstanding policy research in the following 2 areas*. 2. Number of Openings: up to 4 candidates, one per research topic (The position may remain unfilled if no suitable candidates are found)
- Requirements
- Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and have obtained their Ph.D. within 7 years (excluding the period of maternity/parental leave).
- Researchers who are not full-time faculty members at universities in the Republic of Korea, or researchers affiliated with overseas universities or research institutes.
- Researchers with excellent communication skills necessary for planning, executing, and promoting projects
- Offer
- Monthly Salary: Range from 3.5 million KRW to 4.5 million KRW (Institutional social insurance fees and severance pay will be provided separately)
- The positions are initially for 1 year (can be extended depending on performance) starting from March 1, 2026, and up to 2 years.
