(1) Research and Development Objectives
This study aims to explore concrete strategies for Seoul National University (SNU) to fulfill its social responsibility in addressing national challenges. Specifically, the goal is to formulate policy measures through which SNU can utilize its human, material, and financial infrastructure to support regional universities and contribute to the advancement of higher education in Korea.
(2) Research and Development Content
The specific contents of the research are as follows:

Comprehensive Review and Feasibility Assessment of Social Responses to “Establishing 10 Seoul National Universities” and Related Proposals

Review cases such as the University of California system, the State University of New York (SUNY), the City University of New York (CUNY), the University of Paris I–X, and Japan’s national university system.

Analyze, evaluate, and assess the feasibility of proposed policy alternatives such as the “10 Seoul National Universities Project” and the “National and Public University Alliance Network.”

Develop rational and practical policy alternatives.

Study on the Revitalization of SNU’s Regional Campuses

SNU currently operates campuses in Yeongeon, Siheung, and Pyeongchang, and runs educational units in regions such as Suwon (Gwanggyo) and Sejong.

Examine specialization and development strategies for each regional campus, including Yeongeon, Siheung, Pyeongchang, and Sejong.
- Propose specific development strategies tailored to each campus.
