[Invitation]
In June 2025, the North Korea nuclear threat, the intensification of protectionism and structural reorganization of global supply chains, and the deepening of technological competition centered on Artificial Intelligence. Amid these sweeping changes across diplomacy, security, and the economy, the need to recalibrate and refine Korea’s national strategic responses has never been more urgent.
Against this backdrop, the SNU Institute for Future Strategy, the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies, and the East Asia Institute will co-host a forum on the theme: “Global Polycrisis and the Strategic Direction of South Korea’s Foreign and Security Policy.” This forum will bring together Korea’s leading experts to provide an objective assessment of the strategic environment facing Korea and explore mid- to long-term response strategies on key issues, including the North Korean nuclear problem, the South Korea alliance, diplomacy toward Japan, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, and supply chain strategies.
