Research contents

1. the need for the research project
A. Need for AI National Strategy
● Spreading consensus: There is a growing consensus on the need for a national AI strategy within the national innovation system.
● Differences in strategies by country: There is diversity in the AI field, with some countries taking state-led strategies (e.g., China) and others taking private-led strategies (e.g., the United States). The OECD is building a platform to monitor the level of AI in each country and the different policies.
● The need for a comprehensive approach: There is a growing need for universities, governments, and the private sector to study and implement national strategies by comprehensively assessing private investment, international norms, human resource development, and technological innovation related to AI technology.

B. Need for policy agenda discovery and in-depth research
● Rapid agenda discovery: An increasing need for rapid discovery of various policy agendas such as AI ethics and responsibility, data privacy, AI standardization by industry, AI social impact assessment, and domestic impact analysis of changes in international norms.
● Formation of expert groups: The emerging need for rapid response through the identification of expert groups across policy issues and the formation of the policy community

2. Objectives of the Research Project
● Summarize and organize the AI National Strategy Series Seminar: Summarize and organize the main contents and results of the AI National Strategy Series Seminar held every month from May 2024
● Identify policy agendas: Identify specific policy agendas and research issues to establish a comprehensive national strategy based on the main contents and results of seminars, develop policy alternatives and review feasibility, and set the direction of research tasks.
