Call for Research Cluster Proposals

Since its establishment in February 2022, the Institute for Future Strategy (IFS) at Seoul National University has been actively conducting research on major domestic and international issues by leveraging the university’s extensive academic expertise across diverse disciplines. The institute shares its research outcomes widely through forums, publications, and reports, and has been actively engaged in policy proposal activities.

IFS currently operates six mid- to long-term in-depth policy research clusters in the following areas: democracy, future of science and technology, economic security, population, global Korea, and carbon neutrality. It also develops and manages various policy research task forces (TFs) on emerging issues such as healthcare reform and the policy direction of the second Donald Trump administration.

In response to rapidly changing societal conditions and increasingly diverse policy demands, IFS is launching a call for proposals for new research clusters in the fields of social sciences, economics, politics, and science. This initiative aims to strengthen policy capacity, support creative and innovative research, and contribute to the establishment and advancement of effective public policies. We invite active participation from interested researchers.

  • Faculty members and researchers affiliated with colleges/research institutes at Seoul National University

  • Researchers with experience in planning, conducting, and managing research projects

■ Research Funding

  • KRW 360 million (The budget may be increased or reduced based on annual performance evaluations)
