Invitation to Symposium
“The COVID-19 Pandemic and the Republic of Korea: Toward Healing and Recovery”
Since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Korea on January 20, 2020, more than 33 million people have been infected and over 35,000 have died. During this time, the pandemic has had far-reaching effects on all aspects of Korean society, well beyond public health.
The Pandemic Cluster of the Institute for Future Strategy at Seoul National University, composed of professors from eight colleges and graduate schools across the university, has spent the past two years conducting research on the pandemic. Based on this work, the symposium will explore how Korean society can heal and recover from the wounds left by COVID-19, presenting concrete proposals and fostering open discussion.
