“Unlocking the Future of Industrial Strategy: Innovation Zones and Production Base Strategies”

This issue brief presents in-depth expertise and insights on international politics and the South Korea has grown into a global economic powerhouse, ranking among the world’s top ten economies over the past few decades. However, it is now facing challenges such as slowing economic growth and weakening competitiveness in the United States–China competition for technological supremacy and increasing instability in global supply chains are threatening the sustainability of the Korean economy.

Against this backdrop, transitioning to innovation-driven growth based on technological innovation has emerged as an essential national task. Accordingly, this issue brief highlights the importance of technological innovation and production base strategies, and proposes practical measures to ensure the long-term sustainability of the national economy.
