Invitation to the Grand Quest 2025 Open Forum

Hosted by the Institute for Future Strategy, Seoul National University, and the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies

The Grand Quest Project, launched in 2023 by the Institute for Future Strategy at Seoul National University, began by presenting ten challenging problems. Its outcomes were later published as Grand Quest 2024. This year’s Grand Quest 2025 has invited leading experts from both Korea and the United States to identify “Grand Quests” across ten key fields.

A Grand Quest refers to an unsolved, high-risk challenge that, if resolved, has the potential to transform the paradigm of its field. The challenges presented in Grand Quest 2025 will serve as aspirational goals for Korea’s next generation to shape the future of science and technology. They are also expected to provide important milestones for industries in Korea as they consider the future.

The Open Forum will share the significance and difficulties of each Grand Quest and discuss possible directions for solutions.
